Avana Scrumptious Jacket

When I saw this scrumptious Avana Fur Coat from Nicky Ree I melted. It was love at first sight. I kept going back to look at the over and over. I plurked it. I told friends about it. It is rare for an item to make me gush so much. I think Stanley was tired of hearing about it. The fur is perfectly mastered in its design. Wearing this jacket makes me feel like I am wrapped up in a cloud of security. To top this all off it comes with a matching fur handbag, buttery leather pants, a silver belly chain belt, and an optional bra for the modest.

So what do you wear with such a master piece? The DeShawn cornrows from Discord Designs, of course, because their simplicity does not distract from the jacket. I am not afraid of wearing male styles and you shouldn’t be either. The shoes posed a puzzle for me because at first I was looking through my boots collection. This lead to some inventory sorting which lead to finding this cute pair of cocoa pumps from Elika Tiramisu Designs that I picked up during her last sale.

Blogger Challenge: Sci-Fi Inspiration – Blade Runner

I have a Blogger Challenge for those of you out there.  Let’s see your Sci-Fi Inspiration.   It can be anything from books, movies, comics, etc.   Show us how you can get all Sci-Fi in SL.

Using the Tuli special skin with the Pris makeup from Blade Runner I built around that to costume Pris as close as I could in SL.   I knew that Kaori from Exile would be the perfect fun hair to wear for this project and settled on the Sahara texture for its slightly dirty blonde look. The eyes are my own from Tea Lane in grey blue.

The mesh top that Pris wears was the hardest part to find.   I was trying to find the right look when I came across the Temptation line from Stellar.  The mesh on the top was the right sheerness.   I added a black camisole from Lookr to finish the look of the top.

I came across a nice pair of basic black shorts from The Steamtress which I paired with a pair of tattered grey stockings from Sassy Kitty Designs. The layered look the stockings worked to substitute for the thin black leg warmers worn by Pris. Finding the right shoes was becoming a problem so I ended up making a pair of metallic ballet flats in dark grey to finish the look.

The Spy Who Wore Red

Marni Grut has issued a blogger challenge with the theme being Ispy with the basic idea to dress up as a spy. A family friend has an aunt who was a spy during WWII with the OSS. I used this to inspire my ideal secret agent. Aline Griffith, now the Countess Aline Romanones, wrote a series of books about her adventures with a few fictional twists. She chronicles her first adventure in The Spy Who Wore Red sticking the era and color in my head to work with.

Going with a WWII-inspired spy and using red for my them I looked for the perfect vintage look.   I immediately thought of Ingenue for both the hair and the clothing. My spy likes to steal government secrets in the bedroom so I went for the Very Merry Widow in Ruby with my favorite Ingenue style, Bombshell. Fond of accessorizing, my insider discovered the cutest polished ruby set from Persona that matches the outfit perfectly. The Nosferatu makeup on the Shiloh skin line from Exodi completed the look with its matte red lipstick.

Note: To people who get butt-hurt over a fictional blog and fictional spy I created that was inspired by the era and color of the book mentioned. What? Seriously? What? Next time read the entire blog and you would know that the color and time period were inspired by the book, nothing more. I placed bold on the words that were key to figuring out this blog was inspiration not based on.  No where does it say this is a blog that pictures her.  The mention was merely to get my fellow-readers to go out and try a new book series they might enjoy.

Hybie’s Blogger Challenge: BBW Cutie

Hybie challenged bloggers to make a big girl or guy shape and post a cute blog.

I started with my usual base shape and played around with different sliders to try and find the look I wanted. There were many undos and back to the drawing board issues but I think I am happy with the end result.

For the pictures I used mostly the chubby girl poses from LAP which take in to account larger hips, chest, waistline and more.  I have a fondness for jeans and the Jam Hoody from Maitreya always has the cuteness factor.
